Marko Knezevic just sent over a nice photo. Check it out after the jump –
I had a few frames left on the roll in my camera and couldn’t decide what to shoot. My friend Matt and I had been riding this run off canal which is dry, more like a creek then anything, it’s used for floods in Arizona (I know floods in Arizona right? It happens every now and then lol)
Throughout this enormous ditch are parks and on top of them and soccer fields, etc, so there is a lot of green on the sides of this ditch. We had been bombing this hill, which has a sidewalk at the top, so you could ride really fast and gap down the side of the ditch. It happened to be one of those days in Arizona when we had the coolest overcast clouds and I thought it would make a really cool shot to shoot a photo of Matt jumping off the edge of the sidewalk down the slope into the canal. Every time I look at this photo it reminds me the most fun things
about riding a bike, bombing hills, riding your bike through the city, jumping stuff for no apparent reason and just having a good time. It makes me think of the first time I started riding a bike and the only thing I wanted to do was go fast. Some people have become so obsessed with constant progression they forget that the most simple things are sometimes the most enjoyable.
